How long will my case take?
Cases vary in duration. CAC work diligently to resolve your case as quickly as possible, without compromising the strength of your case or the amount of your recovery.
The majority of claims those on which a lawsuit is not filed usually will be resolved sooner than cases that must be resolved in arbitration or court. You can expect a case that does not have to go to arbitration or court to be resolved between 6 and 18 months after the date of the accident, depending on how complex the issues are and how severely you are injured.
Cases that must go to arbitration or court can take considerably longer. Court dockets are often crowded with thousands of cases older than yours. Occasionally, witnesses cannot appear in court, causing further delays. This is especially common with expert witnesses such as doctors and engineers. If a lawsuit must be filed, be prepared to wait up to 2 years before your case is finally resolved. Occasionally, a lawsuit will take longer than 2 years, but those cases are the exceptions, not the rule. CAC will work aggressively to move your case along so that you can be compensated for your loss.
