- About the Firm
Our goal is to protect the interests of consumers by providing quality legal representation to our clients. Generally, unless otherwise agreed to, our clients do not pay us any attorney fees to take their cases. Rather, we seek to collect our fees from the defendant using fee-shifting statutes. In other words, we try to collect our fees on top of whatever claim for damages you may have. For example, even if your claim is only worth $10.00, if it involves a consumer fraud, the defendant may have to pay our reasonable fees and costs on top of your recovery.
The law protects you against unfair and coercive debt collection methods. You must know how the law can protect you and help you keep debt collectors in check.
We help consumers that have been wronged by fraud, unfair methods of competition, and unfair or deceptive acts and practices in the marketplace.
There are a wide variety of laws that protect you from being treated unfairly in the areas of consumer finance; protecting the accuracy and privacy of your credit information, and much more.
Changes By The Credit CARD Act Of 2009
The Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009 made changes regarding how credit card companies handle consumer accounts, such as how and when they can raise your interest rates, impose over-the-limit fees, and open credit card accounts with persons under 21 years old.
